All members of our team are important! Everyone has the opportunity to achieve individual success and contribute to the team. Our aim is to have a swim club that cares and cheers for each other. We want each swimmer to take pride in our swim team and participate in a supportive, positive, and fun environment. Our Mission
The Governor’s Ranch Swim Team is a competitive recreational swim team that strives to provide a positive swimming experience for all participants from Governor’s Ranch and the surrounding areas. We are committed to maximizing the potential of individual swimmers and promoting sportsmanship and a fun team environment.
Coaches’ Responsibilities
The coaches’ jobs are to supervise the entire swim program, in conjunction with the Swim Team Board. The Governor’s Ranch coaching staff is dedicated to providing a program for swimmers to learn the correct strokes, to compete and strive to do their best, and to enjoy the sport of swimming.
1.
The coaching staff will place swimmers in practice groups. Selections are based on the age and ability level of each individual. When it is in the best interest of the swimmer, they will be put in a more challenging training group by the coaching staff.
2.
The coaches are responsible for stroke and skill instruction and the training workouts for each practice group.
3.
The coaches will maintain discipline among the swimmers so as to provide the best learning and training environment. Any serious conflict or disciplinary problem that is unable to be resolved among the coaches, swimmers, and parents, will be brought to the attention of the Steering Committee for review and resolution.
4.
The coaching staff makes the final decision concerning swim meet events in which a swimmer is entered. Whenever possible, the coaching staff will assign swimmers to the maximum number of individual and relay events available for the meet.
5.
At meets, the coaching staff will conduct and supervise warm-up activities for the team. Prior to and after each race, the coaches will offer a constructive evaluation of the swimmer’s performance.
6.
The assignment of individual swimmers to a relay team is the sole responsibility of the coaching staff.
7.
The coaching staff will assist the Meet Director in assuring that each meet is conducted fairly and consistently for the benefit of each Gator swimmer. In the event of a major problem(s), the coaching staff will assist the Meet Director and the Steering Commitee in reviewing the problems with South Jeffco League officials.
8.
The coaches will work to make the Gator Swim Team a fun and successful program.
