Gator Bytes 7/7/24
Hello Gator Families!
We had a great meet yesterday at Columbine Knolls! We won our final regular season meet GVR:758/CK:445, which means we are undefeated this season. It has been so incredible to see how much all of our swimmers have grown this summer as athletes, teammates and individuals. We are so proud of this team!
Water World Day is tomorrow! Please remember, Green and Purple groups will not have practice. Silver and Senior will at their normal time.
This is the last week of practice for all of our swimmers who have not earned a State Meet qualifying time after the League Championship meets this weekend.
League Meet Details: This coming weekend are our League Championship meets. League Meet entries are due earlier than regular meets. Please enter or sign-out of the Silver/Gold meet by this Tuesday the 9th at 10:30 am. If you are wondering which events would be best to enter please feel free to reach out to the coaches. Both the Silver and the Gold League meets are Championship meets. There will be paid officials and starters, ribbons, and trophies for the winning team. These meets are set so that every swimmer has a Championship meet to complete their season. There will be practice this Friday for Swimmers who are entered in the Gold meet on Saturday. Practice will run from 6:45 - 8 for Senior and Silver swimmers, and 8-8:45 for Green and Purple. We expect Gold swimmers to attend practice on Friday. Due to the calendar we have had several days off and it is important to attend. A few clarifications on Silver vs Gold League Meets. Swimmers must have earned a qualifying time to be eligible to compete in the Gold League Championship Meet. A swimmer with only one Gold time may choose to swim that event at Gold OR three events at Silver, but swimmers cannot swim at both the Gold and Silver League meets. Coach Meagan sent out an email last week about how to sign up for Gold or Silver based on what your child qualified for, but if you have questions please reach out. The coaches will set the relays, based primarily on times. Relays are limited to two per team per event so not everyone will be able to participate in relays at the Championships. The 200 freestyle and 400 freestyle and all events for the Silver League will be swum on Friday morning at Bear Creek. Warm-ups will be held at 7 am and the meet will begin at 8 am. Holding these events on Friday will ensure that we can complete the remainder of the meet on Saturday in a timely manner. It also allows those swimmers who enter these longer events the chance to recover before competing in their other races on Saturday.
