Gator Bytes 6/24/25
Hello Gator Families!
Sorry about not sending information sooner, it has been a few busy weeks! I wanted to send out a few reminders of what we have coming up. Our season is moving quickly and we are so proud of all of our swimmers who are earning PR's, KCI and State qualifying times, as well as breaking a few Gator Records!
Next Meets: Our next meets are broken into two parts, and they are this Thursday June 26th (Gator Open) and Friday and Saturday June 27-28 (KCI)
The Gator Open is this Thursday, June 26th at 7am at our Governor's Ranch pool. It will be a virtual meet, meaning that teams will participate at their home pool, and then times from all teams will be combined for scoring. We will host Platte Canyon this year, which we are very excited about!
The KCI will be held this Friday and Saturday at Ken Caryl. Swimmers 13 and older will swim Friday morning, and swimmers 12 and under will swim Saturday morning. The meet schedule is posted on our website. We will not have practice on Thursday or Friday, however Platte Canyon has invited any KCI swimmers who want, to practice with them on Thursday morning at their pool. If you are interested please reach out to Coach Meagan.
Upcoming Events:
Swim Across America/ Endurance Challenge: You received an email from Coach Meagan this week about our participation in fundraising for Swim Across America. Our actual Endurance Challenge event will be on July 1st, but you can start now by setting up an account and sending it out to friends and family, or bringing change to practice for the coin jar! Fundraising is totally optional, but if you want to participate, it gives our kids another purpose for swimming and provides service to others, which is one of our team values.
This is a really fun day and parents are welcome to come watch! After they swim, we have a team breakfast. We will send out a link for the Signup Genius to bring something to feed our hungry swimmers!
If your child participated last year, their total lap count is posted on our website under the Endurance Challenge tab. You can use this to set new goals for this year!
To learn more about SAA and our team’s participation in the fight against pediatric cancer you can go to the Gator’s SAA website.
If you would like to participate you have two options. You can either choose to make a donation to our team, or you can create your own page to send out to friends and family so they may donate under your swimmer’s name. To create your own page click the “Register” button and then “Join a Team” and type Governor’s Ranch Gators
Our schedule on July 1st will be:
7 - 8 am Senior and Silver swim
8-9 am Green swim, upper division breakfast
9-9:30 am Purple swim

Our team Movie Night is Wednesday, July 2nd at Grant (Ladybug) Park. We will meet at 7:30pm, please bring movie snacks and blankets or chairs. We will be watching a family friendly movie as soon as it's dark enough. We hope to see you there! We will also have a fundraiser this night at Raising Canes! They will donate a percentage of the proceeds from 4-8pm to the team. Please get your dinner and then come watch the movie, make sure to mention the Gators when you check out! Bring any blankets, chairs and snacks that you want!
Our team day at Water World is on Tuesday, July 8th. There will not be practice this morning for our Green or Purple groups. The White group will practice at their normal time. You can purchase your tickets on the Gator website at a discounted rate any time. You can also purchase tickets through our website for any other day that you want to go!
We do not have a meet on July 5th. We hope you all enjoy your holiday and get some rest! Please reach out if you have any questions!
